In light of recent events, instead of wallowing in sorrow, I decided I need to think positively as much as I can. So today, I wanted to list a few things I am grateful for. We're officially less than two weeks out from Thanksgiving, so now is as good as time as any to focus on the good in my life.
I am grateful for having a family that loves and supports me. I am grateful for the friendships I've built over the years, even if we don't talk as often as we should. I am grateful for the new man in my life and a relationship I honestly didn't see coming but that I wouldn't trade for anything. I am grateful for my body and my health. I am grateful for the place I call home and the car I dreamed about owning and now call mine. I am grateful for my job and the chance to earn my PhD (and its flexible schedule—what I'll miss the most once I have a "real job"). I am grateful for my blog and my readers (you!) for allowing me the opportunity to share my voice and blabber endlessly about clothes, a passion I didn't realize I had until three years ago. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
Now for something a little less deep: Add this outfit to the list of my favorite perfect-fall-temperature outfits. We're currently in the midst of a very strong, persistent ridge over the western U.S. that has kept our temperatures above normal for this time of year (60s, but they would be even higher if we weren't in a temperature inversion). The downside is that the haze is pretty terrible. Still, allow me to wear my favorite combination of long sleeves + bare legs + ankle boots and I'm a very happy lady!
