The problem with this time of year is the combination of cold, crappy weather and days that are entirely too short. Weekends are definitely when fashion bloggers try to get their outfit photos done. Well, I didn't want this particular weekend to go to waste, but I could NOT figure out an outfit that I actually liked. I spent entirely too long staring at my closet ("closet full of clothes and nothing to wear" type of situation...someday it won't be that way!). I ended up putting together this look and decided to turn it into a holiday party type of outfit. It is made up of entirely ModCloth pieces. I know, I'm obsessed. After all that, the weather kept the pictures inside, so apologies for the terrible lighting.
My boyfriend and I got our tree on Black Friday since we are parting ways to our families the week before Christmas. We wanted to have as much Christmas as possible! After seeing trees downtown decorated in white and gold lights and LOVING the look, we decided to give it a shot on our own tree. We first bought one strand each of white and gold. Why did we EVER think that would be enough? We ended up going back to the store the next day to pick up two more strands in each color, so we have 600 lights on our nearly 6' tree. Our tree looks awesome. We keep staring at it and thinking we have such good taste, haha. ;)
Once I decided this was a holiday look, I played a bit more with my makeup. I normally just do BB cream and mascara, but I added a red lip color to bump it up a bit!
I am so excited for upcoming holidays events! There's a little market I want to go to this weekend (as long as the roads are okay). I also want to see The Nutcracker, which is one of my favorites if not my favorite ballet! Not to mention all of the holiday movies I plan to watch and the craft I'm going to do this weekend and possibly post about later.
